Remodeling Your Home Can Boost Its Value

While my wife and I loved our home at first, after a few years, we started craving a change in scenery. We thought about remodeling it to see if that would give us the change we were looking for, but we worried that if we were still bored of our home after the remodeling project, we would have just "wasted" our money before putting it on the market. That mentality changed when we learned that some home remodeling projects can boost the value of your home greatly and even help it sell more quickly after it is put onto the market! We soon had our kitchen upgraded and a few other changes to our home and found out that it really was the change we were craving. I learned a lot about home renovations during the remodeling process, so I decided to create a blog to share my tips on!

Don't Settle For Ordinary Paint: Why Your Home Needs Exterior Coating Instead

If you're planning to tackle some much-needed home improvement projects this next spring and painting is on the list, don't settle for ordinary paint. Instead, talk to a contractor about applying an exterior coating to your home. Exterior coating goes above and beyond what ordinary paint can do for your home and for you. Before you settle on a coat of ordinary paint, read the information provided below. Here are just three of the many reasons you need to consider exterior coating for your home.

Reduces the Need for Repainting

If you're like most people, the idea of painting your home fills you with dread. Not only is it a back-breaking task, but it's also a costly task. Unfortunately, you can't just paint your home once and be done with it. Because paint is exposed to the elements, it can chip, peel, and fade. As a result, you'll need to repaint your home several times over its lifetime. Or, you can choose exterior coating. Once an exterior coating has been applied to your home, you won't have to worry about fading, peeling, or chipping for many years.

Protects Against Moisture Damage

If you've seen mold and algae growing on the outside of your home, you need to worry about what's lurking below the surface. Whenever you see mold and algae on the outside of your home, you can assume that the problem has spread deeper into your home. Unfortunately, you can't just scrub the problem away. Once spores have taken root in your walls, you need to take a more extreme approach, which usually entails primer and a fresh coat of paint. You can avoid mold and algae-related problems by sealing your home with exterior coating. Exterior coating forms a protective layer around your home, which seals out the moisture, and protects against mold and algae growth. If you do see a hint of green on your home, exterior coating ensures that you'll be able to rinse away the problem with your garden hose.

Increases Your Homes Energy Efficiency

If energy efficiency has become a problem in your home, it's time for exterior coating. Ordinary paint doesn't do much to increase energy efficiency. That's where exterior coating comes into the picture. Just as exterior coating forms a protective seal around your home to protect against mold, it does the same thing to improve energy efficiency. Once you have a protective layer of exterior coating, your home will be more energy-efficient.
